Wreck-It Ralph is returning for another Fix-It Felix beating!
It looks like the world’s (or arcade’s) most lovable villain, Wreck-It Ralph, will returning to the big screen in a sequel to the hit 2012 video game-centric Disney film. During an interview with Irish radio program RTE Arena, actor John C. Reilly confirmed that Wreck-It Ralph 2 is in the works by revealing that he has signed on to reprise his role as the title character for a sequel. Penny Hart, the producer of the radio show, took to Twitter to share the news.

The film has not been green-lit by Disney yet, but expect the studio to give it the go-ahead in the near future. The news shouldn’t come as a massive surprise, considering how Wreck-It Ralph was a nice sized box office success, grossing over $470 million worldwide on a $165 million budget. It was hard not to fall in love with the smartly written characters, colorful animation and beautiful story of the 2012 film. The film was also nominated at both the Academy Awards and the Golden Globes for Best Animated Feature, but lost to Pixar’s Brave (ugh) at both. As of now, Reilly is the only actor officially set to come back for a sequel, but don’t count out that Sarah Silverman’s Vanellope von Schweetz, Jack McBrayer’s Fix-It Felix and Jane Lynch’s Sergeant Calhoun will all be returning as well. Also, Wreck-It Ralph director Rich Moore has expressed interest in helming another film, so it may not be “game over” (get it?) for him either.
What do you guys think? Are you ready for more Ralph, or was one film enough? Feel free to tell us in the comments below.
