TIFF Midnight Madness horror, Andre Ovredal’s  ‘The Autopsy of Jane Doe’ Bought by Raven Banner From IM Global

Raven Banner has acquired Canadian rights to Andre Ovredal’s supernatural horror “The Autopsy of Jane Doe” starring Emile and Brian Cox  from prolific independent Entertainment studio IM Global, who also fully financed the film.

Ovredal (Troll Hunter) directed from a screenplay by Ian B. Goldberg and Richard Naing. Ophelia Lovibond also stars in the film.

“The Autopsy of Jane Doe” was produced by Fred Berger, Eric Garcia, Ben Pugh and Rory Aitken of 42, and was executive produced by IM Global Founder/CEO Stuart Ford, Matt Jackson and Steven Squillante.

Hirsch and Cox portray coroners — a father and son — who receive a mysterious homicide victim with no apparent cause of death. As they attempt to identify the beautiful young “Jane Doe,” they discover increasingly bizarre clues that hold the key to her terrifying secrets.

The deal for the film was negotiated by Raven Banner’s Managing Partners Michael Paszt and James Fler and IM Global’s President of Sales, Michael Rothstein.

Raven Banner will release day and date alongside IFC, who holds U.S. rights.

This marks Raven Banner’s fourth TIFF acquisition.  Recently, U.S.-based De Angeles Films closed a financing deal with the Canadian film distributor to bolster its acquisitions.  Additional, TIFF pick ups include, ‘The Happiest Day In The Life of Olli Maki’, ‘Mimosas’ and ‘Hello Destroyer’ under Raven’s specialty Northern Banner Label.
