Ghostbusters Frozen Empire Trailer Unveiled – Chills, Action, and Iconic Returns Await

Ghostbusters Frozen Empire Trailer: The much-anticipated trailer for the upcoming Ghostbusters movie, now officially titled Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, has made its grand debut, and you won’t find yourself in any legal trouble with the Environmental Protection Act for giving it a watch.

The teaser trailer confirms that this sequel to 2021’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife is set in the familiar streets of New York City, the iconic backdrop of the first two Ghostbusters films. However, this time, a new threat looms, and it takes the form of a deadly supernatural phenomenon called “the Death Chill.” As Dan Aykroyd’s seasoned Ghostbuster, Raymond Stantz, explains, this chilling force possesses the power to shatter bones and turn veins into icy rivers, with a grim outcome where your own tears freeze up.

In Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, the Spengler family returns to their roots at the iconic New York City firehouse. There, they join forces with the original Ghostbusters, who have established a top-secret research lab to advance their ghost-busting capabilities. However, when the discovery of an ancient artifact unleashes an evil force, both the new and old Ghostbusters must unite to protect their home and thwart the impending global catastrophe of a second Ice Age.

The teaser offers glimpses of a city in the grip of winter’s deadly embrace, a stark contrast to the summertime NYC we remember. Returning cast members such as Mckenna Grace, Finn Wolfhard, Celeste O’Connor, Carrie Coon, Logan Kim, Paul Rudd, Ernie Hudson, Bill Murray, and, of course, Dan Aykroyd himself are featured, reprising their roles from the beloved franchise. Additionally, the trailer introduces newcomers Kumail Nanjiani and Patton Oswalt, the latter of whom appears oddly enthusiastic about the subzero chaos.

Directed by Gil Kenan and written by Kenan and Ghostbusters: Afterlife filmmaker Jason Reitman, this movie represents a significant chapter in the Ghostbusters legacy. Reitman, the son of the late Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman, expressed his hope that Ghostbusters: Afterlife would lay the groundwork for further sequels during the 2021 New York Comic Con.

In June 2022, as part of “Ghostbusters Day” commemorating the anniversary of the 1984 Ghostbusters, Reitman revealed that the franchise was gearing up for its next installment, set to return to the bustling streets of New York City.

Co-starring Annie Potts, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is scheduled for release on March 29, 2024. You can catch a glimpse of the movie’s exciting teaser trailer above.
