Travis Kelce Interview: In an expansive interview featured in WSJ. Magazine’s December/January issue, NFL superstar Kelce, 34, delves into the beginnings of his relationship with Taylor Swift, sparing no details.
While initially hesitant to share all the specifics, Kelce eventually reflected on his first unsuccessful attempt to meet Swift at her Eras Tour show in July. Shedding light on the situation, Kelce mentioned that there were people in Swift’s circle who knew him and played the role of Cupid, helping him catch Swift’s attention.
In a revealing moment, Kelce disclosed, “She told me exactly what was going on and how I got lucky enough to get her to reach out.” Notably, members of the Swift family, including some of her little cousins, contributed to drawing Kelce’s attention.
Recounting an amusing incident at Arrowhead, Kelce shared, “When she came to Arrowhead, they gave her the big locker room as a dressing room, and her little cousins were taking pictures…in front of my locker.” As for their first face-to-face meeting in New York, Kelce expressed that they had been conversing before, making for a comfortable dinner and conversation.
Throughout the interview, Kelce discussed his relationship with his brother Jason and touched on his mother Donna’s thoughts about Swift. He acknowledged that he had never dated anyone with Swift’s level of public attention but emphasized that he wasn’t shying away from it. Kelce praised Swift’s ability to handle scrutiny and live her life despite constant media attention.
Describing Swift as “hilarious” and “a genius,” Kelce highlighted their shared values related to family and work. He noted, “Her team is her family. Her family does a lot of stuff in terms of the tour, the marketing, being around, so I think she has a lot of those values as well, which is right up my alley.”
