Ali Wong Humorous Divorce Journey: Navigating Single Life with Wit

Ali Wong Humorous Divorce: Comedian Ali Wong has officially initiated divorce proceedings from her husband of eight years, Justin Hakuta. Legal documents obtained by The Blast reveal that the couple separated on April 10, 2022.

Wong is seeking joint custody of their two daughters, Mari (8) and Nikki (5). Regarding spousal support, separate and community property, both Wong and Hakuta are currently in mediation and plan to resolve all support issues through a written stipulation. This indicates their intention to reach a mutual decision on matters related to personal and joint properties.

Before the formal separation, Wong, known for her humor, playfully commented on marriage dynamics. She humorously mentioned the power dynamics within a marriage, drawing parallels with the popular HGTV show “House Hunters,” where decisions are often influenced by one partner’s preferences.

In her Netflix comedy special, Wong previously joked about marriage, expressing envy for single individuals. She candidly discussed the challenges of monogamy and how, like an “idiot,” she willingly entered what she described as “monogamy jail.”

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter prior to the divorce filing, Wong highlighted the unconventional nature of their divorce, emphasizing that they had been through a lot together. She shared insights into her life post-divorce, hinting at a new comedy tour titled the “Single Lady tour.”

The surprising level of public interest in their marriage, especially from the Chinese and Vietnamese media, added unexpected layers to Wong’s experience. Despite the challenges and her mother’s initial reaction, Wong remains resilient and focused on navigating this new chapter in her life.
