Cameron Diaz Debunks Set Rumors: Cameron Diaz has finally set the record straight on the longstanding rumors surrounding Jamie Foxx’s behavior on the set of “Back in Action,” addressing the speculation that it led to her decision to quit acting for the second time.
During Tuesday’s episode of Molly Sims‘ “Lipstick on the Rim” podcast, the “Bad Teacher” star expressed her frustration with the rumors circulating about their set, vehemently denying the claims.
“I really hate all of the things that were being said about our set at the time,” Diaz shared. “You just want to scream at the top of your lungs, like, ‘What are you talking about?'”
Diaz, 51, specifically addressed reports that Foxx was allegedly “making everything miserable” behind the scenes, which purportedly led her to consider never making another movie.
“Jamie is the best. I love that guy so much,” she affirmed. “He’s such a special person and he’s so talented, so much fun.”
While acknowledging there were “hiccups” on set, Diaz attributed them to the natural challenges that can arise during filming. The only unexpected delay, she noted, was due to Foxx’s weeks-long hospitalization.
“That’s something that is not my place to speak about,” she said, emphasizing that Foxx, 56, is now “thriving.”
Despite the challenges, Diaz commended Foxx’s grace in handling the situation. “When I see and hear people trying to take another person down like that … [Jamie is] so classy. He’s like, ‘Nope. Just let them [talk].'”
“Back in Action” marks Diaz return to Hollywood since 2014 when she took a hiatus from acting to start a family. It also marks the third collaboration between Diaz and Foxx, who previously worked together on “Any Given Sunday” and “Annie.”
While Foxx has not directly addressed the rumored feud, he briefly discussed a mystery illness that left him unable to walk during a recent acceptance speech. He expressed gratitude for overcoming tough times and dispelled rumors of being a clone.
