Pierce Brosnan Heading to Court: Actor Pierce Brosnan is set to face legal action following an alleged breach of policies within Yellowstone National Park.
According to the U.S. District Court of Wyoming docket, Brosnan, aged 70, was cited for “foot travel in all thermal areas and w/in Yellowstone Canyon confined to trails” and “violating closures and use limits.”
Scheduled for a court appearance at the Yellowstone Justice Center in Mammoth, Wyoming, on Jan. 23, the “Mamma Mia!” star received the citations on Nov. 1. These citations, categorized as petty offenses, were officially filed in court on Tuesday, as confirmed by Fox News Digital..
Among the regulations for Yellowstone National Park’s thermal areas is a guideline cautioning against travel through these areas after dark. Additional rules specify that “stock are not permitted in thermal areas,” alteration or introduction of objects into thermal features is prohibited, and immersion in water solely of thermal origin is not allowed.
Yellowstone boasts over 500 active geysers and offers a stark warning on its website about the potential dangers posed by these thermal areas. The ground’s thin crust above boiling hot springs and unpredictable hazards demand adherence to designated walking areas, such as established boardwalks, for safety.
The potential consequences for Brosnan remain uncertain, with questions lingering over possible criminal charges. Should charges be pressed, fines and/or a sentence of up to six months in jail could be considered, according to information from the Department of Justice.
