Sarah Paulson Broadway Triumph: Holland Taylor celebrated partner Sarah Paulson’s triumphant return to Broadway in the play ‘Appropriate,’ marking a significant moment for the couple.

The duo graced the opening night party for the Broadway production of Appropriate on Monday, with Paulson, 49, taking center stage. In a delightful Instagram post, the Emmy-winning actress shared a picture of herself and Taylor, 80, joyfully smiling at The Yard House Times Square in New York City.

Paulson expressed her happiness in the caption, highlighting the significance of being together on such special nights. “I’ve typically been separated from my person on these kinds of nights. Not this time,” she wrote. “Deserves the grid.”

The couple, who first crossed paths in 2005, officially started dating in 2015, later going public with their relationship. Throughout the year, they have been spotted at various events in New York City, including the Paris Fashion Week Fendi Couture runway show and the 2023 Academy Awards. Taylor also took the opportunity to commemorate both Paulson’s fourth Broadway appearance and her birthday on December 17.

In an Instagram post, Taylor shared a photo of flowers, a present, and birthday candles spelling out “49,” emphasizing the significance of Paulson’s return to Broadway after a decade. The Morning Show star praised her girlfriend’s comeback as “incandescent, thrilling, fiery, and brave,” characterizing the play ‘Appropriate’ as a “brilliant theatre masterwork” by playwright Brandon Jacobs-Jenkins.

Directed by Lila Neugebauer, Appropriate features an ensemble cast including Elle Fanning, Corey Stoll, Natalie Gold, and Michael Esper. Jacobs-Jenkins, a Pulitzer Prize for Drama finalist, originally penned the play in 2013, and it premiered Off-Broadway in 2014.

Last month, Paulson appeared on The View to discuss ‘Appropriate’ and her eight-year relationship with Taylor, expressing her excitement and gratitude. “I am thrilled and I feel very lucky to be with a person who is smarter, wiser, wittier than I, and that just makes my life better in every possible way,” she shared. The Ratched actress emphasized the importance of feeling seen in their relationship, describing it as the most significant gift one can give.

Both Paulson and Taylor have deep roots in New York theater, with Paulson making her Broadway debut in 1993’s ‘The Sisters Rosensweig’ and Taylor boasting eight Broadway credits dating back to ‘The Devils’ in 1965. Their enduring connection to the stage further adds to the rich tapestry of their shared experiences.
