Jacob Elordi Replaces Andrew Garfield: Key Role in Del Toro’s ‘Frankenstein

Jacob Elordi Replaces Andrew Garfield: Jacob Elordi has officially joined Guillermo Del Toro’s rendition of Frankenstein. Following his success in Saltburn, the Australian actor secures the pivotal role of The Monster in the forthcoming adaptation of Mary Shelley’s revered 19th-century gothic horror.

Taking over the part from Andrew Garfield, famed for Spider-Man: No Way Home, Elordi steps in due to scheduling conflicts arising from the recent SAG-AFTRA actors’ strike.

Elordi joins an already impressive ensemble, featuring Oscar Isaac portraying Victor Frankenstein, supported by Mia Goth and Christoph Waltz. The cast welcomes new talents including Felix Kammerer, known for his impactful role in Netflix’s adaptation of All Quiet on the Western Front, alongside Lars Mikkelsen, David Bradley, and Christian Convery. These fresh faces complement an already robust lineup.

Del Toro’s unique interpretation of this classic horror narrative has been in development for some time. Previous plans for the film involved Doug Jones as the Monster, although his involvement remains uncertain. Nevertheless, it seems unlikely that Jones will embody this iconic Hollywood monster.
