Levon Trade Jason Statham: Directed by David Ayer, known for his work on Suicide Squad, and with a screenplay adapted by Sylvester Stallone, the forthcoming film will feature Fast & Furious star Jason Statham in the lead role of Levon Cade, according to reports by Deadline.
Adapted from Chuck Dixon’s novel of the same title, Levons Trade marks Stallones return to screenwriting, following his work on 2019’s Rambo: Last Blood and 2018’s Creed II. Originally conceived as a television series under Balboa Productions, the film is the first installment in Dixon’s Levon Cade thriller series.
The story revolves around Levon Cade, a man who left his former life to work in construction, seeking an anonymous existence while being a devoted father to his daughter. However, when a local girl goes missing, he’s compelled to draw upon the skills that once made him a legendary figure in the covert realm of counterterrorism.
Levon’s quest to find the vanished college student takes him into the heart of a treacherous criminal conspiracy, setting off a chain of events that endangers everything he holds dear. It’s a call for him to return to his deadly trade, for Levon’s trade is death, as described in the book’s synopsis.
Production responsibilities are shared by David Ayer and Chris Long for Cedar Park Entertainment, along with Jason Statham and Sylvester Stallone. John Friedberg and Bill Block are also on board as producers.
Bill Block, speaking about the project, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I am thrilled to be reuniting with some of my most talented and longstanding partners on Levons Trade. I first worked with David Ayer on Fury, and it was immediately clear that he is a director at the very top of his game.”
Block also noted his collaboration with Jason Statham, adding, “Jason and I have worked together on a number of films, and most recently the three of us collaborated on The Beekeeper. Levons Trade is going to be another spectacular action movie, and Im confident weve assembled the dream team to bring the first novel in this celebrated series to the big screen.”
