The Life of Chuck (2)

The film delves into the life of its central character, Charles Krantz, but in a unique reverse narrative. It begins with his untimely death at the age of 39 from a brain tumor and travels backward to explore his childhood in a house believed to be haunted, as stated in the synopsis.

“The Life of Chuck” is based on one of the interconnected stories from Stephen King’s 2020 novella, “If It Bleeds.” Mike Flanagan, celebrated for his work on acclaimed Netflix series like “The Haunting of Hill House” and “The Haunting of Bly Manor,” takes the directorial helm. He also serves as the writer and producer under his Intrepid Pictures banner, with QWGmire handling the financing and production.

This marks Flanagan’s third foray into adapting Stephen King’s works, following his successful adaptations of “Gerald’s Game” in 2017 and the sequel to “The Shining.” Notably, he has expressed his ambition to develop an adaptation of King’s iconic novel, “The Dark Tower,” a project he holds dear as his dream endeavor.
