Sofía Vergara, the esteemed Americas Got Talent judge, has found herself in the company of a new companion.
After her announcement of divorce from Joe Manganiello in July, Vergara was recently seen on a dinner date with orthopedic surgeon Justin Saliman at the elegant Funke restaurant in Beverly Hills on a Friday evening.
For this special evening, the 51-year-old Vergara adorned herself in a black lace corset paired with plum velvet wide-leg pants and black strappy heels. She completed her ensemble with a deep red clutch. Saliman, a former spouse of Grimm actress Bree Turner, opted for a smart-casual look, sporting a dark shirt and jeans.
Both were spotted at the restaurant and later together in a car, chauffeured by the orthopedic surgeon.
According to a source, the actress is “dating and having fun.” They noted, “She is enjoying life. She seems positive and full of energy.” The insider added, “Sofia has been handling the divorce well. It wasnt an easy decision, but she is doing great now.”
Representatives for Vergara did not provide immediate comments to PEOPLE.
As per his website, Saliman practices in Beverly Hills and is an orthopedic surgeon with specialized training in sports medicine from Stanford University. He operates at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles. During a medicine fellowship at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California, his website notes that Saliman worked with the San Francisco 49ers and various university athletic teams.
Vergara’s dinner date with Saliman comes on the heels of her divorce announcement from her husband of seven years, Joe Manganiello, 47, made in July.
In a statement to Page Six, the couple conveyed, We have made the difficult decision to divorce. As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect for our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives. Manganiello filed for divorce two days later, citing “irreconcilable differences” in documents obtained by PEOPLE. The pair did not have a prenuptial agreement. Their last public appearance together was at the Vanity Fair Oscar party in March 2023.
Meanwhile, Saliman separated from Turner in 2018 when the actress filed for divorce. They had been married since 2008 and share two children. The Grimm star cited “irreconcilable differences” and sought joint legal custody of their children.
Recently, a source revealed to PEOPLE that Manganiello and actress Caitlin O’Connor are “dating” and were “out of town together” at the time. The insider shared, “They’re both really funny together. He laughs at her a lot because she’ll crack these witty jokes.” The source further described O’Connor as witty, sweet, and smart, while Manganiello earned praise for his cool and charming demeanor.
