In one Instagram Story post quoted in the reports, Barrera mentioned actively seeking information about the Palestinian side, criticizing Western media for allegedly showing only one perspective.
Barrera, known for her role as Sam Carpenter in the 2022 Scream and Scream VI, was set to continue as the new lead in the franchise. Her character, introduced as the daughter of Scream villain Billy Loomis (Skeet Ulrich), was expected to follow in the footsteps of Neve Campbell’s Sidney Prescott.
